How Much Does 3D Rendering Cost? (2026 Price Guide)

Quick answer: professional photorealistic renders start from $179 per space for interiors and $279 for exteriors at our studio, with virtual staging from $79 per room and walkthrough video from $2,499. Published industry guides put typical market prices anywhere between $250 and $5,000 per image – with animation at $6,000+ per minute – a spread so wide it is almost useless for budgeting. That is because most studios price by project and publish nothing. This guide shows our actual published rates, exactly what moves a quote up or down, and how to brief a project so you are not paying for work you did not need.

Our Published Pricing

$179 / space

3D interior renders – residential, commercial and KBB.

$279 / space

3D exterior renders – houses, bungalows, villas and developments.

$79 / room

Virtual home staging for listings and empty stock.

$2,499

Walkthrough video (15-30 seconds) – house flythrough animation.
Every price includes fast turnaround, free revisions and high-quality output – the final quote depends on the factors below.

What Actually Drives 3D Rendering Cost

1. How developed your drawings are

The single biggest factor. A complete SketchUp or Revit model cuts the quote substantially; scaled PDFs sit in the middle; hand sketches mean we rebuild the geometry from scratch. If you have CAD files, always send them.

2. Number of views of the same scene

The first image carries the modeling cost – additional views of the same scene are far cheaper. Ordering five views together is dramatically better value than one at a time.

3. Interior vs exterior

Interiors of the same property usually cost more per image: every visible object must be modeled, textured and lit, while exteriors lean on landscape context and repeatable materials.

4. Level of finish

A massing study for a zoning board costs a fraction of a photorealistic marketing hero shot. Boards need accuracy and context; buyers need atmosphere. Paying for cinema-grade polish on a zoning image is wasted budget.

5. Deadline

Rush work displaces scheduled projects and carries a premium at almost every studio. Booking ahead is the cheapest speed upgrade there is.

Why quotes vary so widely

Revision policies, resolution and licensing, template scenes versus bespoke modeling, and subcontracting all hide inside the headline number. A cheap render with one revision round routinely ends up dearer than a fair one with free revisions.

How to Keep Rendering Costs Down (Without Cutting Quality)

  1. Send everything at once – plans, elevations, materials, references. Incomplete briefs cause revision rounds, and revisions cost more than preparation.
  2. Approve the draft stage carefully – moving a camera at draft stage is free; moving it after final detailing is not.
  3. Bundle views of the same scene into one order.
  4. Specify materials before modeling starts – a finish schedule or product links is enough.
  5. Say what the image is for – a zoning image and a sales image are different products at different prices.
  6. Book ahead of your deadline and skip the rush premium entirely.
  7. Reuse the model – if you will need a marketing set later, say so up front.

Is Professional Rendering Worth the Cost?

For a zoning or planning submission, weigh the CGI budget against the cost of a denial and resubmission. For pre-leasing and off-plan sales, weigh it against not marketing until completion. In both cases the render budget is usually a rounding error against the risk it removes. It is also why 3D rendering services are now standard practice on projects of every size – see our beginner’s guide to 3D rendering for how the process works end to end.
